Bose Frame: connected sunglasses with a touch of augmented reality

Bose has unveiled connected glasses that incorporate speakers and allow you to enjoy an unprecedented augmented reality experience.

American manufacturer Bose, a leading audio specialist, has just introduced its first connected glasses. Here are the Frame, sunglasses with built-in speakers and microphones. Two models are offered with different styles, but identical technology.

They weigh 45 grams and have an autonomy of 3.5 hours listening and 12 hours standby. They are connected to your smartphone via Bluetooth. The speakers are located in the branches; the sound is directed backwards at the level of the ears. The manufacturer specifies that it is possible to make calls and control his music with physical buttons on the mount.

The goal of the Frame is to replace your classic wireless headset, but also to offer an unprecedented augmented reality experience, using audio rather than visuals. To do so, they have a GPS chip and a 9-axis accelerometer. They are thus able to determine (without camera) what the wearer is looking at. Partnerships have been established with tourism companies such as TripAdvisor or Yelp to complete the experience.

The glasses are available for a base price of 199 dollars. New features should arrive as you go.
