For several hundred dollars less than its nearest equivalent under Windows, the Yoga Chromebook C630 from Lenovo offers a superb 4K screen and a very good versatility.

With the Chromebook C630 Yoga, Lenovo has pushed the limits of what can be expected of a Chromebook in 2019. Its main asset is its superb screen 15.6 inches 4K, its solid technical sheet and its aluminum finish. And like most Chromebooks, it costs hundreds of dollars less than a Windows equivalent configured the same way.
In fact, the C630 is the Chromebook version of the excellent Yoga C930 which is one of the 2 in 1 favorite editorial hybrids. We tested the model with touch screen 4K 3.840x2.160 pixels, but it also exists in full HD version.

Our copy was equipped with an Intel Core i5-8250U processor, with 8 GB of DDR4 RAM and 128 GB of storage. It's less firepower than Windows machines, but it's enough to run Chrome OS and load web pages quickly.

The C630 is the first Chromebook with a 4K touch screen. He is tall, reactive enough bright to make reading videos a pure pleasure.

Its understated matte black finish exudes a discreet classy feeling. The aluminum chassis weighs a little over 1.8 kg, which makes it rather light for a 15.6-inch laptop.

Like most Chromebooks, the keyboard of the C630 lacks firmness. The touchpad is spacious and responsive. The set is quite suitable.

The audio / video part is also correct: two 2-watt speakers on the bottom of the computer and a 720p webcam with dual mic. Connectivity is typical of a Chromebook: two USB-C ports, a USB 3.0 port and a microSD reader.

The Yoga C630 has an excellent ten hour battery life measured in our endurance test. This is not enough to raise him to the pantheon of the best laptops, but it's quite commendable for a 2-in-1 hybrid with a 15.6-inch 4K display.

    Conclusion

We are more and more convinced that for most people buying a Chromebook no longer requires compromise. Of course, if you are dependent on one of the few remaining applications that run exclusively on Windows or MacOS, this is not the laptop for you. Otherwise, the Yoga C630 Chromebook is a great, inexpensive laptop that can also be used as a giant tablet, with a 4K display and amazing performance for everyday productivity and entertainment tasks.
