Predator CG7: Acer gives way to the trend of giant gaming screens

After Dell, Asus and HP, it's Acer's turn to launch a big screen for gamers, the Predator CG7. Size of the beast: 43 inches.

We will soon need ministers' offices to take advantage of our PC screens! After the HP Emperium 65, Asus ROG Strix XG438Q, Asus or Alienware 55 inches Dell, Acer draws the Predator CG7. A 43-inch monstrous slab in the service of gaming, embedded in a metal structure. This one gives him clearly TV tunes. Note, the base is slightly hollowed to accommodate the remote but supplied, especially your joysticks.

The Predator CG7, or CG437K of its small name, is a LFGD (Large Format Gaming Display) with UHD (3840 by 2160 pixels). The VA (Vertical Alignment) slab would have a contrast ratio of 4000: 1 and a brightness of 1000 cd / m2 according to Acer. We want to see !

An ambient light sensor (deactivatable) allows to dynamically harmonize the screen settings to avoid eyestrain; it is also possible to use preprogrammed profiles to vary the rendering according to the content.

Finally, to consume as little energy as possible, a presence sensor activates or deactivates the slab if the player is in front or not.

The 4K slab of the Predator CG7 can also see its refresh rate climb up to 144 Hz (120 Hz native) and a response time of 1 millisecond. It is compatible with the principles of image synchronization per second / frequency AdaptiveSync and Nvidia G-Sync to enjoy games without tearing images.

The Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) supported by Microsoft's Xbox One consoles is also included. To connect all this small world, five video inputs are available (3 HDMI 2.0b, 2 DP 1.4) and it is even possible to connect USB devices to the screen since five sockets are there (1 USB Type-C, 2 USB 3.0 and 2 USB 2.0).

In terms of color ranges covered, Acer announces that the Predator CG7 is compatible with the VESA-Certified DisplayHDR 1000, 90% DCI-P3 and a deltaE less than 1 for a faithful color rendering.

Color always, but this time LED: Four magnetic light bands can be distributed on the camera's angular housing, and be set in 9 modes, to illuminate your parties or ambiancer your movie nights.

Finally, like any good screen of this size, the Predator has two speakers. Do not expect miracles but they send a power of 10 watts each.

The Predator CG7 (CG437K P) is currently available only in the United States, priced at around $ 1500. We contacted Acer France to know if it was in the plans to launch this monster in our country. We are waiting for their answer on this subject.
