The Chromium version of Microsoft Edge will arrive on January 15

The Chromium version of Microsoft Edge will arrive on January 15

A beta version "Release Candidate", so almost final, can already be downloaded on the publisher's website, which gives an idea of this new version.

Things are clarifying. After unveiling the logo of its new Edge web browser, Microsoft took advantage of its Ignite conference on November 4 to reveal the launch date of this software. It will be January 15, 2020. Based on Chromium open source software, the new Edge browser will be available on Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7 and macOS, in 90 languages.

And that's not all. Microsoft also took this opportunity to release the "Release Candidate" version of this software, which is the latest beta version before the final release. Which already allows to see what will look like this new version.

Among the features that Microsoft puts forward is the protection against advertising tracking. Three levels are proposed: Basic, Normal use and Strict.
The new Edge also makes it possible to create "Collections".

With this feature, the user can save elements of web content in a single space by simply clicking and dragging: an entire page, a link, an image, a piece of text, etc.

Edge also allows you to synchronize favorites and navigation data between different devices or customize the look of a new tab. It can be "minimalist", "artistic", "informative" or "personalized".
